QM 451.2 T-M (Ft. Monmouth)                     1st Ind.

Holabird Quartermaster Depot, Baltimore, Maryland, May 10, 1940.
To -- The Quartermaster General, Washington, D.C.

1. There are on hand at this depot the following American Bantam vehicles, one of which can be made available for transfer to the Signal Corps Laboratories at Fort Monzouth, Oceanport, New Jersey:

One (1) each Chassis with cowl grid windshield assembly - USA W-1271.

This vehicle is a part of EDT Project No. 9-9 covering the development of a Messenger Truck 3-passenger. However, due to the pressure of other work no progress has been made on this project and the chassis is new and unused.

One (1) each Chassis with improvised cab and pick-up box, assigned to the Motor Transport school - USA W-1270.

This vehicle is in poor condition and is at present completely disassembled undergoing major repairs.

2. Of the two (2) above listed vehicles it is recommended that the Bantam chassis USA W-1271 be transferred to the Signal Corps, if suitable for their purpose.

L. J. LAWES,
Lieut. Colonel, Quartermaster Corps,
Commanding.
